Overview

Medieval Times Lyndhurst New Jersey

The Eleventh Century comes to life!

Experience the pageantry, horsemanship, chivalry and romance of the Middle Ages in a European-style castle. Your evening will begin in the Hall of Flags where you wil be granted temporary citizenship in one of six Iberian Kingdoms and meet briefly with the King and his Princess for a photograph. After your initial audience with the King, you will be granted leave to explore the grounds of the castle before the Tournament begins. Feel free to stroll through the outdoor gardens, the Hall of Arms, the Royal Stables and the Knight Club.

Procession of Knights©2006 Medieval Times

While you stroll, you may pause to witness a knighting cermenony, listen to the Lord Chancellor, inspect one of many full suits of armor and even to test the weight of an impressive broadsword... or simply to relax at a convenient table and enjoy two fully stocked bars.

When the trumpet sounds, it's time to be seated in the Grand Ceremonial Arena according to which Kingdom you've joined, and be introduced to the Kingdoms's Champions and their Mounts; all majestic, powerful and agile stallions of Andalusian, Arabian or Freisian breed.

And then the Champions shall compete!

You'll feast on a four-course medieval banquet served by serfs and wenches. As the show begins, you'll witness exquisite equestrian drills performed by beautiful Andalusian stallions. Then you'll cheer for brave knights on horseback competing in medieval tournament games including an authentic jousting tournament and dangerous sword fights of the very real 'don't-try-this-at-home' type.

The European-style Castle features a soaring Tower, elaborately decorated Hall of Arms, outdoor courtyard, Knight Club (with DJ & dancing), extensive gift shop, Museum of Torture, two full bars and an indoor stable area where guests can view some of the 30 horses as they are prepared for the evening's shows. The 1,000 seat, air conditioned arena features state-of-the-art sound, lighting and special effects systems for the ultimate tournament experience.
